The Hand of Malevolence is crafted from the following items:
- the left hand of a hag
- a "raven's" (black) candle
- an eyeball from a hanged man
The fingers of the hand are closed around the eye. The candle sits in the palm of the hand, secured by melted wax, positioned so that when lit, the flame blackens the eye.[1]

While a Hand of Glory creates light seen only to its user, the Hand of Malevolence is like a counterpart. When lit, the hand suppresses magical effects and creates a radius of silence.
